Review.

It's been about 5 or 6 days since I finished what I had left for microdosing purposes and I have not taken any LSD since then.

My biggest concern immediately after stopping was how much I would miss it. Between the on-days, I would find myself excited or wanting to take a microdose because I knew if I did, my day would have been much more positive, optimistic, and smoother. From a day or two after that until now, I had actually forgot that I had this blog and that I had microdosed at all. I didn't find myself thinking upon it too much or craving it at all. This leads me to believe that it's possible to use microdosing as an anti-depressant, though I have no idea how often people take anti-depressants, but at the same time, I don't have an addictive personality. I would say I'm addicted to drugs as much as I am addicted to baths - I'll take them when I want because it's nice, but I don't need it.

I forgot that I wanted to explore the empathy change while microdosing, but I do recall having a significant emotional connection to a character in a film. In another instance, I cried while re-watching the Figi segment of Dr. Sanjay Gupta's documentary, "Weed". The first time I saw it, I was emotional, but not to the point of tears.

Productivity-wise, I feel that there was a slight upgrade, though it is dependent on the user as to where they decide to put their energy, focus, and motivation. As for myself, a self-deprecative fledgling of a writer, it helped quiet the voice in the back of my head telling me I'm awful. It helped, but not significantly. If anything, I got as much done, maybe more, while sober or high on marijuana as I did while microdosing.

In the future, I'd like to be able to experiment with daily microdosing over a long period of time and then abruptly stopping for several days.

Redosing.

I took a 20 microgram dose at around 9am and noticed that compared to last week, it feels like I haven't had a "full cup of coffee"

Two things to account for:
-250 microgram trip taken 3 nights ago.
-Four hours of sleep last night.

It's currently 2:15pm and I will take another 20 microgram sliver and see if it adds/extends the initial dose or if it fails to do anything at all.

3:40pm
Definitely feel a boost from the second sliver.

6:16pm
I just woke up from a roughly 2 hour nap. LSD let's me focus on what I want to do, which is different than say Adderall forcing me to focus on anything that I'm doing at the moment - except sleep.

If I wanted to keep awake I probably could have, but what I really wanted was to sleep and rest and so I did.

Also, it feels like the second sliver added to the dosage. Instead of extending the duration of the 20 microgram dose, which is what I was hoping for, it added to it.

Week 1

It has been a week since the first microdose and my observations lead me to believe that small amounts of LSD can be used as an alternative to Ritalin as well as an anti-depressant.

On the off-days when I was not microdosing, I noticed that my morale and motivation were much lower than the on-days. Whereas on the on-days, I wouldn't mind doing these little things. In fact, I didn't mind doing a lot of things like cleaning my bathroom and my room in general. I had more motivation to write and keep writing my screenplay. I was more optimistic about the day and had a slight increase of appreciation for nature. I smoke a lot of weed, but during the on-days, I was less compelled to want to take a hit.

One night, past midnight, after the day's microdose effects had receded, I took another microdose to observe the possible use of LSD as Ritalin. After the dose had set in, I felt awake and alert and able to continue on with writing without the late night's lethargy. I've taken Adderall in the past, for college studies and never recreationally, and on those nights I wouldn't be able to sleep all night even if I knew my body needed it. Sometimes I would be up well into the next day and not go to bed until evening. The most fascinating thing about a microdose of LSD was that, unlike Ritalin, after 2-3 hours I still had the option of sleeping, if I so chose. I wasn't forced to keep awake.

I'm contemplating microdosing everyday this week and taking a full week's break next week to see if there are significant changes in mindset/withdrawals of any kind.

EDIT:

Two nights ago, I took about 250 micrograms with a friend during his first trip on acid. One specific moment during the night, we came across a spider in my room - the size of the tip of my thumb - which is plenty enough to scare and intimidate me. But for the first time in my life, I chose not to kill it, but instead catch it and release it outside.

This little event made me realize that my empathy quotient was raised significantly. I knew this was true already, but it's interesting how it made me go from a spider-killer to one that couldn't take the life of this little guy - he didn't do anything to me.

I will explore this empathy change and see how it affects me while microdosing.

Day 1

Day 1

Background:

Male. 21. Unemployed college student "taking a break". Have on and off bouts with depression for the past ~9 years, but a couple days ago had a breakthrough into positivity due to a 375 microgram LSD trip. Instead of continually thinking there's no point in being alive, I suddenly found myself wanting to cling to life with a newfound ambition. The LSD tabs in possession are ~250 mics each. For microdosing purposes, the single tab was cut into strips creating about 13 slivers with each being ~19 mics/sliver. Dosing every other day, or every three days is the proposed course of action for now. Today will be gone about as a trial. Due to the fact that I tripped on 375 mics the previous Thursday, 3 days ago, tolerance may be too high to even feel the 20 mics. If nothing is felt, a 1-2 week break to baseline tolerance will be necessary.

At the time of writing this sentence, it has been four hours since I dosed. I exercised and worked out during the "onset" (20-60 minutes after dosing) and didn't feel any notable difference. It wasn't until after I had showered that I felt noticeably awake and up, like I had had a normal cup of coffee. I don't drink coffee period anymore. I did have a caramel macchiato at Starbucks a couple weeks ago and it made me feel a little bit more wired than I would have liked - an uncomfortable alertness. The alertness I feel now is similar, but it doesn't make me antsy or fog my thinking. Actually, the clarity and flow of my thinking is smoother than normal.

Shortly after, I went grocery shopping with my cousin/roommate and she didn't notice anything off in particular, but if there was, she probably thought it was because of weed. She doesn't know that I've done acid in the past.

About 3 hours since dosing, I laid down on my bed to listen to music. There was definitely better audial clarity than before. For some reason, I started getting a headache on my right temple. I decided to close my eyes and I saw a mild CEV for a couple seconds. Eventually, I got lost in the music and took the most rejuvenating nap. It was interesting because if I nap, I tend to be out for well over an hour or so, but I woke up on my own and felt refreshed after having just slept under 45 minutes.

Thinking again, the headache may have been a warning for a lack of sufficient water in my system, or it's the acid.

A friend came over with a camera he rented from film school and we practiced some shots and threw around ideas. At times it became hard to focus on the idea at hand and on a few occasions I would space out while my friend tried describing a plot point or idea to me - this was during the latter half of the peak.

I had an overall positive attitude going through the day and nothing was out of the ordinary - driving was fine, pupils normal, appetite all there.

Tomorrow I will reflect upon the differences of today and find the contrast.
